THE CHRISTIANS are an outstanding, soul influenced group who had hits in the late 80s and 90s from their million selling album of the same name including Forgotten Town, Born Again, Ideal World, Hooverville ... shortly followed by the number one hit album Colours which heralded the magnificent tracks Words and Father. The band were also renowned for the strong messages and morals in their songs, which by the way have no religious connection (its just their surname!). The Daily Mirror described the voice of Garry Christian as ‘One of the best voices of the century’.
Fast forward 25 years and the group are stil headed by their unique selling point ... the smooth toned Mr Christian ... who sounds (and looks) as good as ever!
Brothers Groove have their own feel and sound. Shaun Hill’s Bluesy Telecaster and Nigel Mellor’s Stratocaster guitar tones, contrasting styles and counter rhythms, complement one another in a unique way. The rhythm section, Deano Bass and Darren Canny, lay down a solid and edgy foundation for the guitars and vocals.
The band's promotional video took them out on the road in 2012 to a great reception from audiences. Their exceptional two hour set of original Blues grooves, delivered by the soulful vocals of Shaun Hill, put a fresh, new slant on the Blues form. Their performances are full of spontaneity and they have great on-stage communication.
Brothers Groove rounded up 2012 by supporting highly regarded Blues acts, such as Cassie Taylor and Oli Brown. The band's 2013 set includes mixed Blues feels, from grooves that get you up dancing, to low down slow Blues.
