Serpentyne+ support Beatrix Players (on stage 8.45pm) + Merrie Noyse (on stage 8.00pm)
Serpentyne on stage 9.30pm

Beatrix Players - 8.00pm - 8.30pm
Serpentyne - 9.00pm - 9.45pm
- 10.05pm - 10.50pm + encore

Serpentyne was created in London in 2010 by founder members Maggie-Beth Sand and Mark Powell, inspired by a combination of early music, folk, Celtic, world and rock.

They recorded their first album, "Stella Splendens" that year, basing it on traditional mediaeval texts and tunes from England, Spain and France, arranged in their own style and blending instruments such as cittole, hurdy-gurdy, harmonium, portative organ, medieval drums, crumhorns, recorders, and Maggie's voice.

Serpentyne released their second album, "Myths & Muses" which is based on mediaeval, traditional and mythic themes, this album has a stronger rock element.

A third album "The Serpent' Kiss" is now following the same mythic & medieval themes as it's previous one, but heading into a heavier rock sound.

Beatrix Players bring their widely praised live show to The Robin 2 for the first time performing songs from their debut album, Magnified.

Florid, adventurous music that operates at the interface between folk, prog and baroque chamber pop, Beatrix Players are the 2017 winners of the Limelight Award for best new artist at the Progressive Music Awards. The band are also currently collaborating with leading national patient charity Fertility Network UK for National Fertility Awareness Week.

"At its best, Magnified reboots the Brontes’ spirit for our brave new world." Prog Magazine

"Intimately acoustic, classically flavoured ... once you get to know these melodies they aren't soon forgotten" Progression

"Music is a wonderful thing; there are times when an album resonates with you and this has happened here for me." The Progressive Aspect

"I cannot recommend highly enough what a mesmerising, captivating and thoroughly enchanting experience awaits" - The Prog Mind
