Glitter Suits and Platform Boots - A 70s extravaganza starring John Rossall - founder of the Glitterband + special guests Slyde Glam RockJohn Rossall's band shouldn't be confused with the many 'cabaret' style Seventies revival and tribute acts currently playing the retro circuit. Their live show features all of the Glitter Band hits plus live versions of the fabulous Glitter records that John and Harvey contributed both in the studio and onstage. The Glitter sound was and is a unique and integral part of the soundtrack of the lives of millions of people worldwide and live, it remains a force like nothing else and John Rossall, founder of the Glitter Band, delivers it like no one else.

John Rossall has an incredible musical heritage, most notably having always been an integral part of the classic seventies 'Glam Rock' era. John was there right from the very beginning, performing on multi million selling hit records and on stage, creating a sound and songs that defined a generation.

As part of the Mike Leander Showband and later as founder of the 'Boston International', John Rossall enjoyed a successful career throughout the sixties and early seventies, touring throughout Europe and appearing on many hit records including Tom Jones' "It's Not Unusual" and the Walker Brothers' "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore". Harvey Ellison joined John in the 'Boston International' having previously worked with 'Root', 'Jenny Jackson' and 'Billy Stewart' amongst others.

In 1972, legendary producer Mike Leander asked John Rossall to form a band to help promote the Gary Glitter hit "Rock & Roll"/"Rock & Roll Part 2" on the UK television show Top of The Pops and subsequently on the road. Originally recorded in 1971, "Rock & Roll" was a massive hit, reaching number 2 in the UK, number 1 in France and number 7 in the USA. Further hit records followed throughout 1973 and 1974, "I Didn't Know I Loved You Til I Saw You Rock & Roll", "Leader of The Gang", "I Love You Love Me Love" and "Always Yours" dominated the UK charts, with John Rossall and Harvey Ellison adding integral brass parts to Mike Leander's instrumental tracks.

Firmly established as 'The Glitter Band', in 1974 John Rossall, along with lead guitarist and vocalist Gerry Shephard wrote "Angel Face", the band's debut solo single and worldwide million seller. Further Rossall/Shephard collaborations followed - "Just For You" reached number 10 in the UK chart in August 1974 with "Lets Get Together Again" reaching number 8 and "Goodbye My Love" number 2 in January 1975.

John Rossall left the Glitter Band in 1974 to pursue a solo career, releasing the singles "I Was Only Dreaming", "You'll Never Know", "It's No Use You Telling Me No" and "But I Do". Harvey Ellison continued to work with the Glitter Band until it's demise in the face of punk and new wave after which he went on to form his own band 'The Power of Soul'.

Since the mid nineties, John Rossall, along with fellow Glitter Band founder Harvey Ellison toured continually, performing their incredible catalogue of hits. With a live band that includes former Slade/Sweet bassist Dave Glover, Blue Orchids drummer Chris Connolly and long time Glitter guitarist Phil Popperwell, John presents a true Glam Rock powerhouse.

Established in 2000 Slyde is a successful Slade tribute band from the UK which performs all over the world.

Chosen by the the Slade Fan Club for their historic 2015 Slade Convention. The band has the endorsement of Mr Noddy Holder (Slade's lead singer) and Don Powell (Slade's powerhouse drummer). Don even kindly performed with us at The Robin 2 Club in Bilston during the 2015 convention.
